Daniel Patterson
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Daniel Patterson is from New York and has a B. A. in Theater from Morehouse College (2004) and an M. F. A. in Film Production from NYU, Tisch Graduate Film School (2010). Since 2010, he has worked as a Cinematographer and Director of Photography on feature films, documentaries, music videos, commercials, and TV series. His work has been shown at festivals and had theatrical releases. Daniel has filmed in various locations, including Africa, Asia, and South America, and his projects are available on platforms like Netflix, Showtime, HBO, and PBS. Recently, he was the Director of Photography for Spike Lee's Netflix series, She's Gotta Have It.
He is also an adjunct professor, teaching Cinematography at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. In his teaching role, he has taught two semesters and has created a curriculum focused on practical cinematography techniques, lighting, and film production. He has guided students in developing their technical skills and creative solutions for film and TV careers.
